Those of you running a K&N or similar filter, how big is it?

Before or after? I’m guessing it adds at least 2 inches.

If it lasts for more than a few hours though I’d have it checked

It’s actually smaller than my factory airbox, which won’t even fit back into the box the intake came in.

On the Cougar I run a K&N model RE-0920. Specs are as follows:
Filter Style: Conical
Length (in): 9.000 in.
Inlet Flange Inside Diameter (in): 3.500 in.
Air Filter Top Measurement: 4.625 in. diameter
Air Filter Bottom Measurement: 6.000 in. diameter
Filter Material: Cotton gauze
Filter Color: Red
It’s mounted in an aftermarket air box that surrounds it and takes air from the fender well and not from under the hood.
The Mustang I’ll have to look up. It’s an S&B unit, similar in size, but I believe a 4 inch opening.

This big:
That is to say, exactly the same size as the stock filter, since it goes in the factory airbox rather than being a whole new intake.

I have the stock replacement not the cone, took out the slush guard and cut about a dozen 1 inch holes into the lower or intake side of the airbox, works just as good as a cone, I also have a cowl snorkel so that might have something to do with it.
